Now that you are dead and encased in amber---I’ve made a beautiful ring, haven’t I?---I will tell you my origin story.

            (ELINOR RADLEY would love to thrash and shout expletives---but, her soul 

            stuck in amber, what can she do?  A voiceover, perhaps?)

ELINOR RADLEY (Voiceover)

No!  I don’t want to hear it!

ABOMINATION

ELINOR RADLEY (Voiceover)

            (The PANTHER LADY opens the cube door from the outside and lets in 

            COUNTESS VAN DER CAVE and the gray-headed GRACE.)

COUNTESS VAN DER CAVE

Just two lesbians out for a stroll!

GRACE

We brought fresh fruit!

ANNIE

ANNIE

I’m looking for Lonnie.

FOOFEE

Are you, though?  It seems like you’re sitting there.

ANNIE

Well, what can I---?

FOOFEE

Not dwell on your sorrows.  Did I tell you I had a brother Feefoo?  He was Alsatian---

ANNIE

They always are---

FOOFEE

He was my everything.  He died yesterday.  You don’t hear me complaining.

ANNIE

But . . .

FOOFEE

But what?

ANNIE

But . . .

FOOFEE

Yes?

ANNIE

He didn’t . . . he didn’t have any lines.  So we never got to know him.  But Lonnie . . . 

FOOFEE

Thinking too much---it’s not good for the head.
