            up to their necks in pure water---pure eau, pure o-oh!  Their bodies are returned to 

            youth.  Their mouths kiss beautifully, passionately, historically, familiarly---the 

            gentle, powerful kisses of ones who have known each other an awfully long time.)

            (Above the horizon, the silhouettes of a giant SUSAN B. ANTHONY and 

            HELEN KELLER can be seen.  They waltz searchingly.)

I want my Lonnie back.  You got two heads.  What’s it gonna be?

            (The HEADS on the lesbian look at each other.)

            (GEORGETTE and GRACE are up to their necks in the glittering pool.)

GEORGETTE

The water is very fresh.

GRACE

GEORGETTE

What happened to the nymphs?

GRACE

You scared them---

GEORGETTE

GEORGETTE

GRACE

Georgie, look at your hand.  It’s young---

GEORGETTE

The wrinkles?  Grace, look at---

What’s happened?

            (They both pull at their clothes and inspect their supple flesh.  Eye contact.  Back 

            to their bodies, which are now fifty years younger.  Eye contact again.  Then they 

            undress under water.)

GEORGETTE

I can’t believe---!

GRACE

Take off your blouse---

            (Unseen nymphs giggle.)

            (The “commode” near the entrance to Butch Gardens.  It is a cesspool of 

            hookworms.  The fearsome ELINOR RADLEY squats and makes lists.  The 

            PANTHER LADY snarls her way up.)

ELINOR RADLEY

It’s you.  What do you think of my plan?

            (The PANTHER LADY swats a hookworm.)

PANTHER LADY

I know what you’re doing---

ELINOR RADLEY

What do you---?

PANTHER LADY

I know the difference between snake spit and snail slime.

ELINOR RADLEY

Well, so what.  I saw my chance and took it---

PANTHER LADY

Things won’t always go your---

ELINOR RADLEY

Is that a threat?  Now, out of my sight!  I’m not finished yet.

            (The PANTHER LADY slinks away.  ELINOR RADLEY continues her lists.)

            (They stare.)

            (GEORGETTE falls down the slick bank and---splash!---lands in the water.)

GRACE

Oops.  ’You all right, honey?

GEORGETTE
